The men's final at the 2012 U.S. Open faced No. 2 Novak Djokovic against No. 3 Andy Murray in what promised to be a match for the ages. Djokovic has won multiple Grand Slam championships, while Murray has had that first win elude him more times than he would like to count. After five sets of play, it was Andy Murray who came out victorious at Flushing Meadows.

Murray won the first set 7-6. The two battled back and forth until Murray finally pulled away 12-10 in tiebreakers. Murray then won the second set 7-5 after Djokovic tied it up late at 5-5.

The third set belonged to Djokovic. Clearly upset about letting the first two winnable sets get away form him, Joker, as he is known on the tour, dominated the by winning 6-2 with a strong serve and forehand.

The fourth set also went to Djokovic, 6-3. Djokovic forced the final set in just under 51 minutes behind three aces and 13 winners.

In the fifth decisive set, Murray jumped out to an early 3-0 lead and pushed the set to 5-2 before finally closing Djokovic out, 6-2.

Serena Williams defeated No. 1-ranked Victoria Azarenka, 6-2, 2-6, 7-5, on Sunday at the 2012 U.S. Open.

Williams was down to her last two points before she rallied to win the final four games of the final set and the match. The win was her fourth at the U.S. Open and her 15th overall Grand Slam title. Williams became the first woman to win Wimbledon and the U.S. Open in the same season since she pulled off the feat in 2002.

Williams has been on a hot streak since a surprising first-round exit at the French Open in May. Williams has won the women's singles at Wimbledon, gold at the 2012 London Olympics and now the singles title at the U.S. Open.

The 2012 U.S. Open features two important singles matches on Sunday at Arthur Ashe Stadium. A trip to the final is still on the line on the men's side, after weather delayed the semifinal match between Novak Djokovic and David Ferrer in the first set. On the women's side, Victoria Azarenka and Serena Williams will play for the championship.

Djokovic and Ferrer are scheduled to begin on the main court at 11 a.m. ET. Ferrer led the first set, 5-2, before severe storms in the New York area caused the match to be suspended. The Spaniard will be looking for his first trip to a Grand Slam final. Djokovic is trying to make it two straight U.S. Open Championships.

Williams and Azarenka will follow the men on the main court, with that match scheduled to start no earlier than 4:30 p.m. ET. Williams will be seeking her fourth U.S. Open title and 15th Grand Slam trophy overall. Azarenka won her first Grand Slam earlier this year, at the Australian Open, in her first trip to a major final.

The women's doubles championship will also be handed out on Sunday as Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka will face Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci. The two sides begin their match at 1:30 p.m. ET in Louis Armstrong Stadium.

The men's semifinal can be seen on ESPN2, while the women's final will be broadcast on CBS. The doubles, and all matches, can be streamed at USOpen.org.

Andy Murray fought off the elements and Tomas Berdych on Saturday afternoon to advance to the Men's Final at the 2012 U.S. Open. It will be the fifth Grand Slam final appearance of Murray's career. No Brit has won a Grand Slam in the past 76 years.

Murray advanced 5-7, 6-2, 6-1, 7-6 (7) over Berdych in a match that took three hours and 58 minutes to complete. Berdych committed a whopping 64 unforced errors, to just 20 for Murray.

The 2012 Open is the first major since the 2004 French Open to not have Roger Federer or Rafael Nadal competing in the semifinals. Murray will face the winner of Saturday's second semifinal match between Novak Djokovic and David Ferrer.

Day 14 at the 2012 U.S. Open in Flushing Meadows, N.Y. will feature three blockbuster matches at Arthur Ashe Stadium. The men's semifinals get things started Saturday afternoon as Andy Murray faces Tomas Berdych at 11 a.m. ET. Berdych pulled off the upset against Roger Federer in the quarters and he's also had plenty of success in his career against the favored Murray. The Brit is still searching for his first slam after falling in the Wimbledon final to Federer, but he entered the season's final major coming off some of the best tennis of his career at the All-England club, where he captured Olympic gold.

In the other semifinal will be No. 2 Novak Djokovic, who's looking to repeat as U.S. Open champion. He'll face Spaniard David Ferrer, who exhausted all resources in a five-set win over Janko Tipsarevic in the quarters on Thursday. Djokovic is heavily favored to get back to the finals, but the unheralded Ferrer is certainly capable of pushing him to the limit. Their match will follow the first men's semifinal.

Saturday evening, the women's final between No. 1 Victoria Azarenka and Serena Williams is set for 7 p.m. ET. Both players have dominated at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, setting up a highly-anticpated clash in the finals. Serena has yet to drop a set and she's looking to cap off a strong finish to the summer, which already includes a gold medal and Wimbledon title.

CBS will carry coverage of all three matches, beginning at 11 a.m. with the fist men's semifinal. Live streaming of all three matches is available at U.S. Open Live.
