If you are a New York Knicks fan you had to be afraid something like this would happen. Coming off a pair of emotional losses at home to Eastern Conference powers Boston and Miami, the Knicks suffered an inevitable letdown on the road Saturday night, losing to the 8-19 Cleveland Cavaliers, 109-102, in overtime.

The Knicks (16-12) have now lost three consecutive games.

Mo Williams tied the game by scoring with 3.7 seconds left in regulation. He had 23 points and 14 assists, Antwan Jamison had 21 points and Anderson Varejao had 14 points and 17 rebounds for Cleveland. amare Stoudemire scored 23 points for New York, his second straight game under 30 points after a streak of nine consecutive 30-point games. Raymond Felton had 23 points and 11 assists for the Knicks.

The Cavaliers had lost 10 straight games prior to Saturday’s victory over the Knicks. New York has a couple of days off before hosting the Oklahoma City Thunder Wednesday at Madison Square Garden.

(Sports Network) - After playing two of the NBA's toughest teams during consecutive games at Madison Square Garden this week, the New York Knicks will enjoy a bit of a respite tonight when they visit the lowly Cleveland Cavaliers at Quicken Loan Arena.

The Knicks followed up on a heart-breaking last second loss to Boston on Wednesday by dropping a 113-91 decision to the sizzling Miami Heat on Friday when LeBron James put on another show at Madison Square Garden, posting a triple-double of 32 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists to lead the sizzling Heat.

Having a big game in New York is nothing new for James, the owner of two 50- point performances at the Garden. Friday marked his first triple-double at the historic venue in his first game there since spurning the Knicks along with his former team, the Cavs, in favor of joining the Heat this offseason.

Danilo Gallinari scored 25 points, while Amare Stoudemire had 24 points and 14 boards for the Knicks, who have dropped two in a row since an eight- game winning streak.

"We played well. We could have played better," Stoudemire said. "They scored whenever they wanted, so we have to get better on the defensive end."

The Cavaliers, meanwhile, have hit the skids and hit them hard, losing their 10th straight in Indianapolis on Friday when Danny Granger poured in 30 points and grabbed a season-high 12 rebounds to lead Indiana past Cleveland, 108-99.

Mo Williams scored 22 points and handed out 11 assists, while Anthony Parker and Antawn Jamison contributed 17 points apiece for the Cavaliers, who are in the midst of their longest losing streak since a 15-game hiccup between November 6 - December 2, 2002.

"We're all competing and putting ourselves in a situation to win games, but when we need to play smarter, when we need to get good shots, when we need to get stops, we're just not finding a way to put it together for 48 minutes," Jamison said. "I know the character of this team. We'll continue to fight."

Cleveland has won eight straight and nine of its last 10 meetings with the Knicks but all of that was accomplished with James leading the way.
