What a better way to cap off a solid first half of the 2012 MLB season then to knock off a long-time rival in a four-game set in its home park. That's exactly what the New York Yankees will get a chance to do Sunday night, when they face the Boston Red Sox in the finale of the series at Fenway Park (8:05 p.m. ET on ESPN).
Sophomore pitcher Ivan Nova (9-3, 4.05 ERA) will take the mound for the Yankees, who took Game 1 on Friday and the first contest of a day-night doubleheader on Saturday. Nova will oppose Boston's Jon Lester (5-5, 4.33 ERA), who will try and help his team enter the All-Star break on the plus side of the .500 mark.
A victory for the Red Sox would also help them not lose anymore ground to first-place New York, which now is 8.5 games ahead of Boston in the AL East Division standings.
