We've heard the Chase Headley-to-Yankees trade rumors before, but it's being reported that New York has merely check with the San Diego Padres to get a proper gauge on the market for the third baseman.
With Alex Rodriguez being out for at least six weeks, the Yankees could be looking to fix their situation in the corner infield, but the New York Daily News cites a source that says "names have not been exchanged" between the two teams. Headley would be a temporary fix at third and possibly a long time solution in the outfield with Nick Swisher becoming a free agent at the end of the season.
