Nick Swisher exited last night's Yankees 3-2 loss with a mild left hip flexor strain and is day to day, according to a report from MLB.com. Swisher was trying to beat out a ground ball in the seventh when he hurt himself.
Via the same report comes news of Andy Pettitte and Joba Chamberlain. Pettitte played long toss on Friday but will have to wait before making more serious efforts. Pettitte has been out since fracturing his ankle in late June and is expected to make his return in early September. Chamberlain made his fourth rehab appearance on Friday, throwing two innings for the Class A Advanced Tampa Yankees. He gave up two hits, one a home run, and one earned run while walking one and striking out one. He had not given up a run in his previous four innings.
