Jose Bautista Injury: Wrist Inflammation Forces Blue Jays' Slugger To DL

The odds of New York Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia tossing a gem in his first start back from the disable list got a bit better Tuesday, as Toronto Blue Jays slugger Jose Bautista was placed on the disable list with wrist inflammation. Bautista suffered the injury during Toronto's 6-3 loss to the Yankees on Monday, when he injured his it during an eighth-inning swing.

According FOX Sports' Jon Morosi, is reporting minor leaguer Anthony Gose will be recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas to replace Bautista, who didn't break his wrist but will be out for at least two weeks. So far this season, Bautista has smashed 27 home runs and collected 65 RBI.

Meanwhile, Sabathia is making his first start since June 24, when he started against the New York Mets and left with a left groin strain.
