Shane Victorino Trade Rumors: Yankees, Phillies Talking About Outfielder

The New York Yankees and Philadelphia Phillies have talked about a trade involving outfielder Shane Victorino, CBS Sports baseball insider Jon Heyman is reporting.

They've talked to the Phillies about Shane Victorino and the Diamondbacks about Justin Upton, but Upton is a major long shot for them and right now they see the price tag as too high on either. Victorino may be slightly more realistic eventually, though.

GM Brian Cashman said on Sunday asking prices are generally too high, and that the deals available weren't worth it to make "marginal'' improvements.

So far, the Yankees have dealt with the loss of left fielder Brett Gardner by platooning veteran outfielder Raul Ibanez and Andruw Jones, but its hard to tell if those two will have too much "wear and tear" come October, says Heyman.
