Yankees Vs. Angels Final Score: New York Wins 6-5 Behind Mark Teixeira's 5 RBI Night

The New York Yankees beat the Los Angeles Angels by a final score of 6-5 Friday night following a four-run rally in the bottom of the eighth inning. With the win New York improves to 53-33.

Mark Teixeira was the star of the game for the Yankees, going 2-for-4 with two home runs. His first was a two-run shot in the third, and those were the only runs the Yankees had scored as they entered the bottom of the eighth down 5-2. Derek Jeter started things off, taking Scott Downs for a leadoff double. Curtis Granderson reached on a walk, and Mark Teixeira came through again with his second home run of the night. That three run shot tied things at 5-5, but the Yankees weren't done. Alex Rodriguez and Robinson Cano couldn't add to things, but after Kevin Jepsen entered the game for Los Angeles Russell Martin managed an RBI single to right to put the Yankees up 6-5. With Rafael Soriano earning his 21st save of the year in a scoreless ninth, Martin's single was all the Yankees needed. Chad Qualls gets the win, his first of the year.
