Yankees (30-24) Vs. Rays (31-24) Preview: Game Time, TV, Probable Pitchers

After taking care of business against the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday night, the New York Yankees will look to make it two in a row against the division leaders on Wednesday.

New York took a convincing win off the golden left arm of Andy Pettitte in the opener of this three game set. Now, the Bronx Bombers will turn to Ivan Nova to keep things going in the right direction.

Nova has a 6-2 record, but that masks his inconsistent pitching thus far. The second year man has a ballooned ERA of 5.60, a number that needs to go down in short order.

In his last start, Nova was rocked for five runs in 6 2/3 innings against the Los Angeles Angels. Fortunately for him, new York was able to score six runs and earn Nova the victory.

As for Tampa, Alex Cobb will climb the mound to get things going in the right direction once more. Cobb is a youngster at just 24-year-old and a pitcher Joe Maddon hopes will be a mainstay for years to come.

Cobb has been solid in his only three starts this year, posting a 2-1 record with an ERA of 3.71. He was knocked around a bit in his last appearance, only pitching five innings while giving up four runs to the Chicago White Sox.

TV: YES/ ESPN2
