2012 MLB Draft Results: New York Yankees Select High Schooler Nathan Mikolas In Round 3

The New York Yankees selected outfielder Nathan Mikolas (Bradford High School, WI) with the 124th pick in the third round of the 2012 MLB Draft on Tuesday.

Mikolas, a 6-foot, 200-pound outfielder, bats and throws with his left hand. A full scouting report of Mikolas follows, courtesy of PerfectGame.org.

Nathan Mikolas is a 2012 OF/1B with a 6-2 200 lb. frame from Kenosha, WI who attends Bradford HS. Medium frame, strong build, long levers. Bat stands out, quality left handed hitter. Tall stance, simple swing, quick hands, aggressive swing, ball jumps off his bat. Good bat speed, some length in back, starts with hands low and back, loads with hips, good extension through the baseball, showed good present power. Patient hitter, almost picky at times, has a plan in the box. Pullside approach, looks to do damage when he swings. Can make a few tweaks to improve swing but polished for a Wisconsin high school prospect, high level bat. Good student. Signed with Louisville.
