Yankees (39-25) At Nationals (38-25) Preview: Game Time, TV Schedule, Probable Pitchers

After 14 innings Saturday, the New York Yankees finally did it. They won their eighth game in a row when Mark Teixeira dropped a two-run double in the right field corner. The Yankees will look for nine straight on Sunday afternoon and a sweep of the Washington Nationals.

New York's streak could be helped if Ivan Nova (8-2, 4.64 ERA) continues his own streak. The 25-year-old righty shut out the Atlanta Braves through seven innings in his last outing, and he gave up just one run to the Tampa Bay Rays before that. Nova won his last four starts.

Washington turns to Edwin Jackson (3-3, 3.02 ERA) to prevent the sweep. The right-hander won his last two starts. He has not allowed more than three earned runs since May 2.

Sunday's game starts at 1:35 p.m. Fans can see it on the YES Network, and it will also be broadcast nationally on TBS.

NOTES: Yankee outfielder Nick Swisher suffered a bone bruise in his left quad while sliding into home plate during the sixth inning Saturday. His availability for Sunday's game is uncertain.
