Ivan Nova Injury: Yankees Pitcher Leaves Game With Ankle Contusion, Sprain

Ivan Nova left Monday night's game against the Baltimore Orioles in Maryland with a contusion and sprain on his right ankle. X-rays taken immediately on the right-hander came back negative. Few details are known so far, though it has been speculated that Nova could miss his next start.

Nova went 5 1/3 innings before leaving the game. He gave up five earned runs off seven hits and three walks during his shortened stint on the mound. Despite his relative ups and down this season, Nova still holds a 4-1 record with a 5.09 ERA.

It has been a rough night for Yankees pitchers. Clay Rapada was also forced to leave the game with a viral infection after relieving Nova.
