Yankees Vs. Mariners Final Score: Yankees Get To Felix Hernandez, Win 6-2

The New York Yankees rode a four-hit performance by Robinson Cano and a three-run homer by Raul Ibanez to defeat the Seattle Mariners 6-2 on Friday night. Hiroki Kuroda picked up the win, improving to 3-1 at Yankee Stadium after giving up just two runs on two solo home runs, one to Dustin Ackley and the other to Jesus Montero.

Cano picked up three singles and a double while batting in one run. Without closer Mariano Rivera, the ninth inning was split between Boone Logan and David Robertson.

Prior to Friday night's game, Seattle's Felix Hernandez had been undefeated in new Yankee Stadium, where he had given up only one run over the past 24 innings. The 2010 Cy Young Award winner's luck ran out Friday, giving up 11 hits and four earned runs.

The two teams return to the field Saturday at 4:05 p.m. for the second leg of their three-game series.
