The New York Yankees have won three of their last four games, and four of their last six. At 17-14, they will begin a three-game series with the Seattle Mariners on Friday – the two teams' first meeting of the season. Game 1 features Mariners ace, 'King' Felix Hernandez versus Hiroki Kuroda.
The scheduled starters for game two are Phil Hughes versus Hector Noesi. Game 3's starters feature a familiar face, as Andy Pettitte is scheduled to make his first start of the 2012 regular season. Opposing him will be Blake Beavan.
Pettitte has pitched 12 total innings between High A, Double A and Triple A this season. In those innings, he's allowed seven runs, walked three and struck out 13. The high ERA may be of concern to Yankees fans, but his FIP was low in the minors, suggesting he's been a bit unlucky in limited innings. His BB:K ratio is a positive sign.
