Orioles 7, Yankees 1: Buck Showalter Gets 1,000th Win Of Managerial Career

Baltimore Orioles manager Buck Showalter earned his 1,000th career victory as the O's rolled over the New York Yankees, 7-1, on Tuesday night. Brian Matusz gave up just one run on the night for Baltimore, a solo-shot home run by Curtis Granderson in the first inning.

Meanwhile, Phil Hughes gave up four earned runs on four hits in his 5 2/3 innings played. Chris Davis hit a solo shot in the second inning to tie the game at one run apiece, and J.J. Hardy had a two-run homer in the third to give the Orioles the lead for good. Hughes was pulled in the sixth inning with two outs after putting Matt Wieters on base with a hit-by-pitch.

Wilson Betemit singled off of Boone Logan to score Wieters. Betemit and Davis scored again in the sixth on an error by Eduardo Nunez in left field sending Nick Johnson to second base. Johnson capped the scoring in the eighth inning on a double to score Davis yet again.
