Jesse Johnson-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

The New York Yankees and Baltimore Orioles will start their American League Division Series with Game 1 on Sunday night in Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

New York will come in with their ace, CC Sabathia on the mound. The hulking southpaw put together another stellar season for the Bronx Bombers in 2012 despite two stints on the disabled list, posting a 15-6 record with a 3.38 ERA. Sabathia has faced the Orioles three times this year and the results have not been good. Twice the lefty pitched six innings and allowed four runs, with the most recent outing being the roughest. On Sept. 8, Sabathia lasted six and one-thirds innings but surrendered five earned runs and three home runs..

For Baltimore, Jason Hammel won eight games and had a solid 3.43 ERA. The 30-year-old right-hander has also pitched three times against the Yankees. In those appearances, Hammel pitched a combined 16 innings and gave up seven earned runs.

In his last start on Sept. 5 against New York, Hammel pitched five innings, giving up just one run in a no-decision..

The weather could be a factor. There is a 70 percent chance of rain in the forecast.
