Yankees vs. Tigers: ALCS Game 4 rained out, will be played Thursday afternoon

Game 4 of the American League Championship Series between the New York Yankees and Detroit Tigers has been postponed due to rain until Thursday afternoon at Comerica Park.

The Tigers are up 3-0 in the best-of-seven series and hope to punch their ticket to the World Series for the first time since 2006, but their coronation will have to wait at least another day.

New York is hoping to get back in the thick of things with CC Sabathia scheduled to start for the first time this series. The Yankees caught a break with the weather happening before and not during the game, keeping Sabathia from throwing a few innings and wasting his start.

Max Scherzer will still be on the hill Thursday for Detroit, also seeing the Bronx Bombers for the first time this postseason. The right hander can be dominant at times, ranking second in the league in strikeouts behind only Tuesday's starter for Detroit, Justin Verlander.
