Orioles vs. Yankees ALDS Game 5 score update: Curtis Granderson puts New York up 3-0

The New York Yankees have extended their lead to 3-0 in Game 5 of the ALDS against the Orioles. Curtis Granderson added the latest run as he homered off Baltimore's Troy Patton in the seventh. It was Granderson's second hit of the night, after he singled in the fifth.

The Yankees scored their first run in the fifth after Mark Teixeira led the inning off with a single, then stole second base. Raul Ibanez put the Yankees on top 1-0 when he drove in Teixeira with a single of his own.

Derek Jeter scored the second run after walking with one out in the sixth. Ichiro Suzuki followed with a double off the right-center wall to bring Jeter home.

CC Sabathia is making life difficult for the Orioles through seven innings. He has allowed just one hit, walked only one batter, and has struck out six. The Yankees are now just six outs away from moving on to the ALCS.
