The Yankees will have their full complement of stars in the lineup for Game 4 of the ALDS against the Baltimore Orioles. There was speculation that Alex Rodriguez may start the game on the bench, after Joe Girardi elected to pinch-hit for the slugger in the ninth inning last night. A-Rod will get the start at third, but has been dropped down to the five-hole.

Derek Jeter was struggling to move around during Game 3 after fouling a ball off his left foot. He will get the start, but not as the the shortstop. Jeter will bat leadoff as the designated hitter.

Phil Hughes takes the mound for New York. Hughes went 16-13 with a 4.23 ERA during the regular season. He split two starts against Baltimore in September, going 11 innings and giving up eight runs.

The Orioles counter with left-hander Joe Saunders, and that is likely a big reason why Girardi wanted to get both Rodriguez and Jeter into the lineup. Saunders finished with 9-12 record and 4.03 ERA. He defeated the Yankees back on Sep. 8, allowing two runs in 5 1/3 innings.
