After much speculation, the New York Yankees will not move Alex Rodriguez down in their lineup for Game 3 of their ALDS series against the Baltimore Orioles. Several reports surfaced that A-Rod would drop in the order after struggling (1-for-9) in the first two games of the series, but manager Joe Girardi has decided to keep Rodriguez in his normal spot at third in the order against Orioles pitcher Miguel Gonzalez.
Not everything will be the same for Rodriguez however, as he will DH instead of playing third base on Wednesday. Eric Chavez will play 3B and bat ninth in the order. The only other change for the Yankees is Curtis Granderson moving back up to seventh in the order and Russell Martin batting eighth; switching spots from the Game 2 lineup.
Baltimore will make a change to its lineup, starting lefty Ryan Flaherty at 2B over righty Robert Andino as the Yankees bring righty Hiroki Kuroda to the mound.
