Sweeny Murti Talks About The Missing Yankee Offense

WFAN’s New York Yankees reporter Sweeny Murti joined ‘Joe & Evan’ earlier today, and had some interesting thoughts about both the missing Yankee offense.

On the offense …

“Back on April 23rd in Baltimore A-Rod hit a grand slam, Jorge Posada hit a home run and Russell Martin hit two home runs. None of them have hit a home run since. … We spend so much time focusing on Jeter and Posada we forgot to realize not a lot of these other guys are hitting very well.”

Murti also discussed Rafael Soriano’s tender elbow (Soriano should be available for the Boston series), the fact that Joba Chamberlain was not available Wednesday simply because he needed a night off, Alex Rodriguez’ missing power stroke, some of the strategic choices made Wednesday by Manager Joe Girardi, A.J. Burnett’s good start to the season and other Yankee topics.
