Rafael Soriano Apologizes

Well. better late than never. New York Yankees reliever Rafael Soriano apologized today for leaving the team’s clubhouse without talking to reporters Tuesday night after blowing a 4-0 lead in a game the Yankees lost, 5-4.

“I don’t know what happened,” said Soriano, who walked three batters and was charged with four runs in New York’s 5-4 loss to the Twins. “I threw a couple of pitches and I feel like I don’t have balance. I don’t think that’s happened before – that’s the first time.” …

“The reason I didn’t do it, I got mad because I think that’s a game CC is supposed to win,” Soriano said. “It didn’t happen and that’s why I got mad. I don’t feel comfortable to talk.”

Hopefully, this is the end of it. Soriano’s words read as though he is sincere, and you can tell he is upset at how the game turned out. The Yankees need Soriano, so hopefully this is nothing more than a blip and not a sign of bad things to come.
