Yankees At Orioles: Sabathia Still Looking For Victory

New York Yankees starting pitcher CC Sabathia apparently did not mind Friday night’s rainout of his scheduled start against the Baltimore Orioles. Sabathia has apparently been fighting off an illness, and did not feel well.

Sabathia will get another chance Saturday night to chase his first victory of the 2011 season. In four starts Sabathia has twice left games with leads only to have the bullpen falter.

The odds would appear to favor Sabathia Saturday, however. He is 14-2 lifetime against the Orioles with a 2.86 ERA in 20 starts. He is 8-1 lifetime at Camden Yards and has won his last five starts against the O’s.

The Yankees enter tonight’s tilt atop the American League East standings after taking two of three from the Toronto Blue Jays. New York has won four of its last five and is the only team in the majors to yet lose back-to-back games this season.
