Could this be the day backup catcher Gustavo Molina finally gets to play for the New York Yankees? Through 12 games Russell Martin of the Yankees is the only catcher in the majors to have caught every inning of every game. With today being a 1:05 p.m. start following Friday's night game, Molina could finally make an appearance.

That is an intriguing sub-plot today as the Yankees try to bounce back from Friday's 5-3 loss to the Texas Rangers. The more important story is the Yankee starting pitching. In their last two games neither Yankee starter, Phil Hughes or Ivan Nova, managed to get through the fifth inning. Hughes and his apparently dead arm, in fact, landed on the disabled list.

What will the Yankees get from today's starter, Freddy Garcia? That is a good question since the veteran Garcia will be making his first start after having his turn skipped twice due to rainouts. Garcia has pitched just one inning thus far in 2011.

"I have to find a way to win," Garcia said. "It's a game. You've got to go out there and try to do your job. That's all you can do."

Garcia was 12-6 with the White Sox last year with a 4.64 ERA.
