  • The news that Andy Pettittte will announce his retirement today is exactly what Yankee fans did not want to hear. You can wish it was a joke, but it isn't. Will Pettitte make the Hall of Fame? He is borderline, and that will be an interesting call. The Yankees will unquestionably miss Pettitte, who is arguably the second-best starting pitcher in franchise history behind Whitey Ford.
