- Baseball season is here! Pitchers and catchers report to 2011 MLB Spring Training today for the New York Yankees. After an offseason that saw Andy Pettitte retire and Cliff Lee sign in Philadelphia the Yankees seem -- on paper -- to be looking up at the Boston Red Sox as the season begins. Let's see what happens, though, when the games begin for real. ↵
- The New York Rangers won Sunday for the first time in seven games, defeating the Pittsburgh Penguins, 5-3. ↵
- St. John's edged Cincinnati, 59-57, in Big East Conference basketball action on Sunday. ↵
- The New York Mets open Spring Training on Tuesday. One of the big questions, in addition to what will happen with the team's ownership mess, is who will play second base. ↵
- It isn't exactly a New York sport, but Dale Earnhardt Jr. has claimed the pole for the Daytona 500. ↵
