- The 2011 Hall of Fame class has been elected, and Roberto Alomar and Bert Blyleven are your newest Hall of Famers. Former Met John Franco, not surprisingly to me, did not even get enough votes to stay on the ballot another year. Fomer Yankee center fielder Bernie Williams is eligible to be on the ballot for the first time next year. What do you think are his chances? ↵

- The New Jersey Nets won a game Wednesday night! Nope, that's not a misprint. The Nets defeated one of the league's better teams, the Chicago Bulls, 96-94. ↵
- The New York Rangers defeated the Carolina Hurricanes, 2-1, for their first victory of 2011. ↵
- The NFL regular season saw significant milestones achieved by both the New York Jets and New York Giants. One of those milestones was achieved by Giants' defensive end Osi Umenyiora, who called the season "bittersweet." ↵
