Three members of the New York Yankees farm system have been named to the MLB.com Top 50 Prospects list. There are no New York Mets prospects on MLB's list of the top 50.
↵For the Yankees, two catching prospects top the list. Jesus Montero is ranked No. 9 overall, and Gary Sanchez is No. 32. Montero is the No. 1 catching prospect on the list. Manny Banuelos, a 20-year-old left-handed starting pitcher is No. 35. Dellin Betances, a 23-year-old right-hander, was ranked No. 53.
↵SB Nation's Minor League Ball has a brief look at each prospect in his look at the Yankees Top 20 prospects for 2011.
↵MLB.com Yankee reporter Bryan Hoch has a deeper look at each of the Yankee prospects on the list.
↵Montero, 21, could be in the Bronx at some point this summer. Banuelos has only a handful of starts above the Class A level, so it seems unlikely he would be a candidate for one of the open spots in the 2011 Yankee rotation.
↵The highest-ranking Mets prospect on the list was shortstop Wilmer Flores, who placed 58th.
↵Voting was done by more than 20 major league scouts.
