Red Bulls-Dynamo Final Score: New York Regains First Place With 2-0 Victory

The New York Red Bulls avenged their previous loss to the Houston Dynamo Friday night, winning by a score of 2-0 and moving into first place in the Eastern Conference of Major League Soccer.The Red Bulls lost to Houston one week ago.

Markus Holgersson had the first goal for New York, putting one in the net in the 61st minute with assists from Tim Cahill and Roy Miller. New York held on to a 1-0 lead for most of the game, until Thierry Henry beat the offside trap and sent the ball across to Jan Gunnar Solli, who put it past Houston keeper Tally Hall to secure the win and first place for the Red Bulls.

New York goaltender Bill Gaudette saw three shots on goal from the Dynamo, defending all three to post the shutout. The Red Bulls are 12-7-5 with 41 points in the standings, just ahead of Houston (11-6-7, 40 points) and Sporting Kansas City (12-7-4, 40 points).
