The New York Red Bulls now know what the possible scenarios are for them in the third round of the 2012 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup — the first stage of the knockout tournament involving 16 MLS teams including New York.
On May 29, the Red Bulls will either host PDL side Reading United AC at Red Bull Arena at 7 p.m. or travel to Blackbaud Stadium to face USL PRO squad the Charleston Battery in Charleston, SC at 7:30 p.m., depending on the outcome of the Second Round match between Reading and the Battery on May 22 at Blackbaud Stadium.
Red Bulls No. 4 In MLS Power Rankings
The Red Bulls are No. 4 in the Week 10 MLS Power Rankings from mlssoccer.com. MLS soccer says:
“Four wins in a row, mostly done without Thierry Henry. You’re lying if you said you thought that was possible. Now what remains to be seen is how Hans Backe can work Rafa Márquez back into the mix. It’s worth noting that when he came back, the shutout streak ended.”
The Red Bulls travel to Montreal on Saturday (7:30 p.m. ET) to face the Montreal Impact.
