Kenny Cooper and Thierry Henry each scored two goals Saturday to help and the New York Red Bulls earn a 4-1 victory at the Columbus Crew. Cooper netted the first two goals, while Henry polished the match off scoring the last two, his seventh tally in the last five games, to extend the Red Bulls (3-2-0) winning streak to three.
Behind two first-half goals from Cooper and another by Henry, the Red Bulls took a commanding lead heading into halftime. From there, New York allowed just one goal, thanks impart to solid play by goalkeeper Ryan Meara, to hang onto the victory, which helps the Red Bulls remain in second place in the Eastern Conference standings.
Next up for the Red Bulls is a home match against the San Jose Earthquakes next Saturday at 7 p.m. ET.
