New York Red Bulls forward Thierry Henry was named the MLS Player of the Month for March on Thursday after a vote by the North American Soccer Reporters.
Henry has dominated for the Red Bulls so far this season, scoring or assisting on eight of the team's league-leading 10 goals during the opening month. Henry scored five goals in March to lead the league and added three assists, second-best in the league.
The 34-year old concluded the month with the first hat trick of his MLS career to pace a 5-2 victory over the Montreal Impact on March 31, adding an assist to go with his three goals.
The Player of the Month award is Henry's first. The Red Bulls return to play on Saturday when they visit the Columbus Crew.
