Red Bulls-Revolution Score: New York Defeats New England 1-0

The New York Red Bulls shut out the New England Revolution 1-0 on Sunday, refusing to relinguish a lead gained in the 7th minute when Thierry Henry took an assist from right back Connor Lade and put it past Revolution netminder Matt Reis.

The goal was a league-leading ninth for Henry, but his day took a turn for the worse in the 22nd minute when he pulled up with a hamstring injury while heading towards the goal. The Red Bulls later announced via twitter that Henry had suffered a right hamstring strain.

The 1-0 victory was Red Bulls goalie Ryan Meara's first professional shutout, and he made some key saves in the closing minutes to make sure that mark didn't slip away. New England was more dangerous in the second half, ending the game with a nearly 60 percent possession rate, but New York's defense held and Henry's single strike was all the team needed. The win snaps a two game losing streak for the Red Bulls, who next face LA Galaxy on May fifth.
