Red Bulls Vs. United Final Score: New York Falls 4-1 To Washington

The New York Red Bulls fell 4-1 Sunday night to D.C. United in the season's first leg of the Atlantic Cup. Thierry Henry scored for the Red Bulls at the 72nd minute, but by then the game was alrady well in hand with United building a 4-0 lead.

United was the aggressor offensively, taking 20 shots on the night, seven on goal. Chris Pontius scored three goals, the first coming from outside the box at the eight-minute mark to put United up 1-0 early on. Nick DeLeon also scored for D.C. in the 36th minute to the bottom left of the net off an assist by Dwayne De Rosario.

New York fell to 3-1-3 on the year and is now in third place in the Eastern Conference behind United (12 points) and Kansas City (21 points).
