Red Bulls-FC Dallas Halftime Score: New York And Dallas Tied 0-0

We’re halfway through the single-elimination wild card match between the New York Red Bulls and FC Dallas, who opened the 2011 MLS Cup Playoffs tonight (Oct. 26, 2011) at the Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas.

Both teams are locked in a 0-0 stalemate.

The Red Bulls, who lost striker Luke Rodgers due to a bum knee, aren’t any closer to advancing to the next round — but then again neither is FC Dallas.

The home team had 10 shots with four on goal compared to the visiting team’s seven shots with two on goal. Both teams were issued yellow cards but New York was also nailed for being offside twice throughout the first half.

The Red Bulls can’t sneak by with a draw like they did so often in the regular season and they need to replicate last September’s win over FC Dallas sooner rather than later. This one is for all the marbles.

Stay tuned.
