The New York Rangers will open their 2012-13 regular season on the road on Oct. 12, 2012 against the Stanley Cup champion Los Angeles Kings, according to the 2012-13 NHL schedule released on Thursday.
The Rangers will have eight away games before their home opener, which comes on Thursday, Nov. 1 against the Dallas Stars. Their first home rematch with the New Jersey Devils, who ousted New York in the Eastern Conference Finals, comes on Dec. 22, after playing in Jersey on Oct. 17. Their final regular season game will be at Madison Square Garden against the Philadelphia Flyers on April 13, 2013.
The Rangers' opening month consists of eight games, all on the road. New York opens its brutal opening-month schedule on Oct. 12, 2012 against the Stanley Cup champion Los Angeles Kings and concludes the first vicious month on Oct. 28 against the Ottawa Senators.
