2012 AHL All-Star Rosters: Eastern Conference Team Features Two Rangers' Prospects

The roster for the 2012 AHL All-Star Classic was announced Wednesday afternoon, and two New York Rangers players, forward prospect, Jonathan Audy-Marchessault, and veteran forward, Mats Zuccarello, who each play for the Connecticut Whale, earned enough fan votes to make the Eastern Conference squad.The All-Star Classic will be played Monday, Jan. 30, in Atlantic City, NJ.

This season, Audy-Marchessault, has tallied 30 points, including a team-high 18 assists, for the Whale, who are in first place in the Northeast Division. Zuccarello has tallied 22 points, including 14 apples. In 2010-11, Zuccarello was a part of the Rangers' postseason roster.

Meanwhile, New York Islanders prospect and 12th-overall draft pick in 2009, defensemen Calvin de Haan, of the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, made the Eastern Conference team, as did New Jersey Devils defensemen Matt Taormina, who spent the first two months of the season with Albany.

All three players are being named to their first AHL All-Star Classic, which will feature a skills competition on Sunday, Jan. 29. The game will be played at the Boardwalk Hall at Caesars.
