Rangers Vs. Flyers, 2012 Winter Classic First Period Score: Tied At Zero

The New York Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers are tied 0-0 after the first period of play in the 2012 Winter Classic at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.

Henrik Lundqvist was crucial to keep things scoreless for the Rangers. He made several great saves during the first period, including these two below.

Lundqvist also stoned Jaromir Jagr on a breakaway attempt.


Lundqvist finished with 12 saves in the first period. His counterpart for the Flyers, Sergei Bobrovsky, made nine saves.

There were two penalties called in the first period of play. Matt Carle was booked for slashing at the 16:58 mark. The Rangers saw Brad Richards go to the box at the 17:47 mark for tripping Claude Giroux. Neither the Rangers nor Flyers were not able to capitalize on their abbreviated power plays.
