Three New York Rangers were selected to the 2012 NHL All-Star Game on Thursday, when the league announced the final 36 veteran and 12 rookie participants who will skate in the competition. Goalie Henrik Lundqvist, defenseman Dan Girardi and forward Marian Gaborik will all represent the Rangers in Ottawa on Sunday, Jan. 29.
Lundqvist has been stellar this season, posting a 19-7 record with a 1.85 goals against average and a .939 save percentage. The 29-year old has three shutouts to date.
Gaborik leads the Rangers with 23 goals, adding 11 assists for 34 points. He has had back-to-back two-goal games twice this season, most recently on Dec. 17 against the Coyotes and Dec. 20 against the Devils.
Girardi has three goals and 12 assists for 15 points, averaging a team-leading 27:18 of ice time.
