Lately, playing the Winnipeg Jets franchise has not boded well for the New York Rangers. New York will look to fend off recent history Monday night at 8:30 p.m. (televised on MSG).
The Rangers have lost eight of their last ten meetings against the Jets franchise, who played as the Atlanta Thrashers last season. Atlanta won last season's series 3-0-1.
New York (2-2-2) is looking to bounce back from a disappointing 2-0 loss to the Edmonton Oilers. Statistically the league's worst power-play team, New York went 0-5 with the man advantage Saturday in Edmonton, dropping their power-play success rate to one-for-23.
"It was a terrible game by us," forward Brandon Dubinsky said. "In order to win hockey games we need to win those battles and we need to have the puck. We didn't do any of those things tonight. It's disappointing because we came in here with a great opportunity and we didn't execute at all."
The Jets currently sit in the Southeast Division cellar at 2-4-1, but are coming off their best offensive performance of the season in a 5-3 win against Carolina.
