The New York Rangers were led by a Marian Gaborik hat trick, and two goals from Alexander Frolov in their 8-2 rout of the Edmonton Oilers.
Derek Stepan also had a bounce back game, putting up two assists in the contest.
Martin Biron got the start over Henrik Lundqvist, due to Lundqvist still having flu-like symptoms. Biron was great tonight, and made some key saves when he had to for the Rangers.
Marc Staal and Dan Girardi had great games as well, keeping Biron’s crease clear and his slot empty for most of the night.
The Rangers blew a 1-0 lead in 28 seconds at the start of the second period. They then answered back with two goals in 25 seconds to give themselves a 3-2 lead. They never looked back from there.
Gaborik, in just his second game after missing 12 with a separated shoulder, recorded his 11th career hat trick.
