SB Nation did its weekly power rankings for the NHL again, and only one local NHL team will be happy with the results.
The New Jersey Devils (1-4-1) came in dead-last in the Eastern Conference rankings. That's right, 15th place for New Jersey. Here is what they had to say about the Devils:
Martin Brodeur is shaky and the offense isn't scoring. Things need to turn around in Newark sooner rather than later.
The New York Rangers (1-2-1) aren't fairing much better than the Devils, coming in at the 11th spot. Here is what they had to say about the Rangers:
Vinny Prospal's out. Chris Drury's out. Marian Gaborik's out. Can the Rangers hold on at all here?
The New York Islanders (3-1-2) are probably the only team pleased with their rankings, finding themselves in the 5th spot. Here is what they had to say about the Islanders:
The fact that the Isles have the record they do with the injuries they do is just remarkable.
Have to agree with the rankings at this point, although it is an incredibly small sample size. Thoughts on this, guys?
