While one never wants to give up on a season, there's a fine line between hope and stupidity. Which brings us to the New York Mets. Their playoff contention seems to have slipped away with their post-All-Star Game swoon. Sure, they could use four or five new relievers, but that may have been helpful two or three weeks ago. So, what should the Mets do with the trade deadline approaching? Bolster their relief corps and maybe add a right-handed bat? Stand pat? Or sell off any assets they have, such as Scott Hairston.
