New York Mets Vs. Washington Nationals Preview: Wednesday Game Time, TV Schedule, Probable Pitchers

The Mets have to hope the rest of this series against the Nationals isn't nearly as interesting as its opener was on Tuesday. Washington beat New York in wild pitch walk off fashion in the 10th inning less than 24 hours ago, and the Mets look to rebound from that defeat.

They'll pit Chris Young (2-3, 4.38 ERA) against Jordan Zimmerman (6-6, 2.48 ERA) in the pitching duel. New York will have its work cut out against the third leg of perhaps the finest pitching staff in baseball at the moment. Recent history isn't favorable to the Mets, as the Nationals have taken nine of the last 11 meetings against them.

The Mets are on a five-game losing skid and they've been outscored 33-17 in that span. New York has also dropped seven of its last 10 outings.
