2012 MLB Draft: Yankees Begin Day 2 Selections; St. John's Kyle Hansen Still On The Board

Day 1 of the 2012 MLB Draft is in the books, however, more dreams will come true Tuesday when it resumes and rounds 2-40 will take place beginning at noon ET on MLB.com.

On Monday, the New York Yankees took right-handed pitcher Ty Hensley out of the state of Oklahoma with the 30th overall pick.

The Yankees have a pair of selections in today's second round, which begins with the 61st overall seelction. New York has the 89th and 94th overall selections. What will be the draft strategy for the Yankees on Tuesday? Fans will find out and can watch all the action on MLB.com, which will be broadcasting rounds 2-16 starting at noon ET.

Meanwhile, Kyle Hansen of St. John's, ranked No. 97 overall by MLB.com prospect rankings, should be one of a few local players selected Tuesday. Hansen, a 6-foot-8, 215-pound right-hander, has helped the Red Storm earn a trip to the NCAA Baseball Tournament's Super Regional round.

On Monday, Stony Brook's Travis Jankowski was picked by the San Diego Padres 40th overall.
