Mets Vs. Reds Final Score: New York Swept After 3-1 Loss On Sunday

The New York Mets lost to the Cincinnati Reds, 3-1, on Sunday at Citi Field. With the loss, the Mets were swept in the three-game series.

The Mets have now lost four consecutive home games, scoring only nine runs in the process.

Chris Young (1-1, 3.06 ERA) got the start for the Mets in the loss. He went seven innings, allowing nine hits three runs (two earned) and two walks while striking out just two batters. Johnny Cueto (8-3, 2.38 ERA) got the victory for the Reds. He went seven innings, allowing six hits, one walk and one earned run. Cueto also struck out eight batters.

The Mets only run came on the one walk allowed by Cueto in the second inning. When Young walked with the bases loaded, Ike Davis scored. New York was only 1-for-5 with runners in scoring position. The Reds did all their scoring in the fifth inning. Wilson Valdez hit an RBI single and Brandon Phillips had a two-run single.

The Mets (35-32) next series begins on Tuesday against the Baltimore Orioles (39-27) at Citi Field.
