Josh Thole Injury: Mets Put Catcher On 7-Day DL With Concussion

The New York Mets have placed catcher Josh Thole on the 7-day disabled list with a concussion (via NY Daily News).

Thole joins Mets shortstop Ruben Tejada, who was injured in the Diamondbacks series, on the disabled list. Thole was knocked out of Monday's contest with the Philadelphia Phillies after a home plate collision with Ty Wigginton in the eight inning. When Thole left he was complaining about headaches and dizziness. He remained in Philadelphia overnight after the incident before returning to New York.

Thole will be replaced in the lineup on Tuesday night by Mike Nickeas. Thole was batting .284 on the season with one homer, seven RBI and nine walks. He's been with the Mets since 2009 and played a career-high 114 games last season.
