Mets Vs. Padres: Teams Resume Play After One Hour-Plus Rain Delay

The New York Mets and the San Diego Padres have resumed play at Citi Field after waiting through a one hour-plus rain delay Thursday night. The showers have been intermittent throughout the day in New York City, but hopefully play can continue unimpeded. Play will resume in the top of the third inning with the Mets holding a 1-0 lead.

The big question after any long delay is how the teams will handle their starters. Jeremy Hefner was pitching well for the Mets before play was suspended. He had one strikeout and gave up just one hit and no earned runs through two innings. He may have to be used for fewer innings than planned depending on how many times the Mets would like him to throw.
