The New York Mets will look to avoid the sweep against the Houston Astros Wednesday afternoon at Minute Maid Park.
The Mets have to be very disappointed with the way this series has gone. New York just took two of three from Colorado before coming into Houston against a weak team and blowing two straight.
The Astros on the other hand have ensured themselves a series win for the first time since their opening one all the way back in the beginning of April.
Chris Schwinden will be on the bump for the Mets, which might make fans a little nervous. The 25-year-old has only started once this season and was touched up for five runs in four innings en route to an 18-9 loss at Coors Field.
Wandy Rodriguez is set to oppose Schwinden for Houston. The Astros ace has been terrific this year with a 2-2 mark but a sterling 1.72 ERA. In his last three outings combined Rodriguez has pitched 20 innings and only allowed three runs.
If New York is going to stop the slide before heading home to play the Arizona Diamondbacks, they'll need a big effort all the way around.
