New York lost the series opener 14-5 on Friday as starter Jon Niese got shelled for eight runs in just three innings of work.
After losing three of their last four, the Mets hope Miguel Batista can stop the bleeding. The righty threw seven scoreless innings against the Milwaukee Brewers in his last outing.
Toronto will counter with Brandon Morrow.
David Wright's status is uncertain due to illness.
